Bank pensioners Kindly Prioritise Family Pension Revision Over Other Demands! Widows Shall Not Be Taken for Granted!
“Respected Senior Members,
I am just a silent reader of the group and I see that there are a few issues which are prioritised by the retirees, especially the matters of Medical insurances and others, but kindly keep in mind that there are like hundred thousand widows, family pensioners, like myself, who are severely struggling just to live a healthy day to day life.
A lot of them have had to cancel medical insurance policies simply because they can’t afford it since husband’s death, do away with maids because even maids get more monthly income than family pensioners of banks, and live a sub-par life.
All these, especially at the old age are unacceptable and extremely savage. Its nothing short of conveying a message to them that, please go to hell, we don’t care about you, even though we have like thousand of crores of pension corpus! The amount of monthly pension which is given to family pensioners is downright unthinkable. These widows are not tech savvy than they can appear online like their husbands and complain about their problems, so they are taken for granted.
So I just request to ALL senior members, to kindly put the main effort in matter of revising the family pension, so that after your death your wife can at least live a humanely life.
I know that some senior members are putting a lot of effort behind it, but unfortunately that number is very low, most retirees are just focused on others stuffs like medical insurance, which is obviously needed but no way it can have more priority than the revision of family pension. So it is bit of a shame. We all know how corrupted govt. and the govt. led organisations like IBA are. They will do nothing to help us, so we shall have our priorities set accordingly.
I am nobody but just a victim being a family pensioner and I talk with other family pensioners as well, who all have the same thing to say, but like I said they don’t even know where or how to voice their complaints and a lot of them are over seventy years old just waiting for their call.
This message is just a request, hope the kind hearted respected senior members will take a note of this, or delete it, as per their wish. English is not my main language so kindly pardon the mistakes made. Best of luck to all the hard working members and my sincere gratitude to them. Regards, – Pratima Ghosh – (Family pensioner, wife of Late Sujit Kr. Ghosh”.
